My Avon Journey by Gina
I’m a 55-year-old Mum and a grandma and until May last year, I was working in a primary school. I decided to leave to help look after my Grandchildren. Looking after them for just a couple of days a week I knew I needed to do something for myself too. Having been an Avon Rep before and always using Avon products I was keen to start up again.
I signed up with Jackie & Adrian in August 2022 and started off by sharing my brochure on Facebook and with friends and family. So many people said to me that they hadn’t seen an Avon brochure in ages and some didn’t even know Avon still existed!
After I built up my confidence with the products and chatted to friends about them, I decided to pop brochures through in my local neighbourhood. At first, I just put them through the doors of people I was familiar with and I was really pleased to get some new customers, some of these are now regulars.
In November I plucked up the courage to do my first party. I held it in my local pub and was really nervous. I really didn’t need to be, once I got chatting, I couldn’t stop! The G&T probably helped! I sold pretty much all the stock I’d taken and took around £200 orders. I’d basically focused on Christmas presents, bubble baths etc. and made up some gift sets.
I hit Platinum by the end of the year and loved my freebies and yes most of my family and friends got Avon Christmas presents!
For 2023 I was determined to keep my platinum level and have worked hard canvassing new areas and ensuring I kept in touch with existing customers and pointing out offers to them. I held another party for the launch of the hydramatic lipstick, and investing in the full set of shades and display was well worthwhile! Not only did I sell some that night I have used it at a recent Spring Fayre and Coffee Morning and received orders each time.
Mother’s Day was a winner for me too! I decided to make up some Pamper Hampers and see how they sold. I showed them on my Facebook page initially and instantly received some orders, so I decided to have a ‘Hamper Shop’ in my local. I made up 15 hampers to take with me and not only sold them all but received orders for another 5. I do really think if people can see things for real, it tempts them to buy more rather than just look in the brochure.
Hard work pays off and I have maintained my Platinum level and really enjoyed the help and support off Jackie & Ady plus doing all these different events. I’ve made new friends, supported some local charities and loved trying out new looks on myself during the Beauty Adviser training.
Sometimes it may seem tough to get orders in but working at it really does pay off.
